CITIZENS OF NATURAL CITY,The month of June will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the defining chapters in our city's history. I have no doubt SERA has already marked this transmission as essential reading within our archives. Though this month brought its share of transition and uncertainty, it also revealed remarkable victories and unexpected opportunities. More importantly, it revealed something within me that I hadn't fully discovered before: resilience. Every challenge became another opportunity to refine the vision. DISTANCE PROVES EFFECTIVE![]() In May, I released the first public trial of my research in the form of DISTANCE—a song exploring the longing that emerges when new love is separated by time and space. Throughout June, I witnessed the effects of that experiment in ways I could not have anticipated. Not only did listeners connect deeply with the song, but DISTANCE also found its way into spaces previously unexplored. It was presented before a panel of industry professionals during ASCAP's Check It Out session in New York City, where it received praise for its lyricism, harmonic structure, and vocal performance. Soon after, it earned placement on Tapyoca Music's One World compilation in conjunction with the World Cup and was added to multiple podcast playlists highlighting some of the country's strongest independent R&B and Soul releases. If this experiment proved anything, it is that authenticity still resonates. Transparency still matters. Vulnerability still has a place within the hearts of music lovers. BRINGING NATURAL CITY TO THE WORLD![]() June also became a month of movement—not only for myself, but for the leaders of Natural City. Seychelle Elise, Lenny Harold, Lauren Ashley, and Authentik all stepped onto stages throughout the month, carrying the sound and spirit of our city wherever they performed. We began with the first live performance of DISTANCE, accompanied by a full band at LMNOP Band's In The Spotlight Artist Showcase, where the song quickly became one of the highlights of my set. Only days later, the District Council reunited for Normalize Black Wealth's annual Fusion In Black celebration. Returning for our second appearance, we showcased the diversity of our collective as each artist shared their own unique voice with the audience. During that event, I also discovered a new passion while serving as host for the evening—an unexpected role that felt surprisingly natural. We concluded the month by performing once again for the annual Juneteenth celebration in Inglewood, New Jersey, as well as an eleventh-hour show at Delta's in New Brunswick, NJ that featured myself and Seychelle Elise where the energy between our collective and the audience reminded me exactly why Natural City exists. CONTINUING TO BUILDGrowth often requires reconstruction. June became a month of refining the very foundations of Natural City. We revisited our systems, expanded our services, and reimagined the ways we serve both longtime citizens and those only now discovering our world. Stepping away from the corporate structures that once shaped my daily life has given me greater clarity about what this city can become. Already, that renewed focus has led to exciting new creative projects, expanded studio opportunities, and new citizens beginning their own journeys within Natural City. THE NEXT EXPERIMENT...After a month defined by both triumph and transformation, my attention now turns toward the next phase of the research. On July 24th, I will unveil the latest experiment: ![]() GTA. This study explores what happens when we choose to surrender control and trust another person to lead us through love. Pre-orders begin July 3rd, and I am eager to observe how this next transmission is received. If the response to DISTANCE is any indication, I believe this experiment may reveal something extraordinary. There is still much left to build. And there is one more announcement waiting just beyond the horizon.
Continue listening. Continue observing. Continue becoming.
The next transmission will arrive soon.
Until then, remain connected to The Source.
